ONLINE PASSPORT APPLICATION
High Commission of India, Suva has introduced online system for re-issue of Indian Passport w.e.f. 01.02.2014 for Indians residing in Fiji, Kiribati, Tonga and Tuvalu on work/exemption/permit. Under this system, applicant is required to fill online application by visiting website :https://embassy.passportindia.gov.in. After filling online application, printout of computer generated application form has to be taken and submitted at the Mission along with the documents and fee. No fee is to be paid online.
Every Indian national living in Fiji, Kiribati, Tonga and Tuvalu are required to register themselves with the Mission. This can be done online by visiting URL: http://www.indiainfiji.gov.in/register.php.
Documents required for re-issue of passport are as below:-
- A) RE-ISSUE OF PASSPORT FOR ADULTS
(i) Print out of computer generated application form;
(ii) 4 coloured photographs (recent and 2" x 2" size) in white background;
(ii) Photocopy of first and last page of passport;
(iii) Photocopy of passport page having endorsement of work/ Exemption permit;
(v) A letter from Fiji Immigration Department mentioning that the applicant has neither taken Fiji citizenship nor applied for Fiji citizenship. Those residing in Tonga, Tuvalu and Kiribati are required to provide this letter from the Immigration department of their country of stay.
(vi) Applicant is required to submit his original passport along with the application.
(vii) Applicant is required to fill an undertaking which can be obtained from the Mission or downloaded from the Application Forms section under Consular Section. This application may also be reached using following URL: http://www.indiainfiji.gov.in/pdf/Undertaking
PROCESSING TIME: 30 working days/subject to clearance received from India/Mission/Posts abroad.
Fee: FJD 175/- to be paid at counter only.
- B) RE-ISSUE OF PASSPORT TO A MINOR CHILD
(i) Print out of computer generated application form. The application has to be signed by mother and father at the mission. In case of divorced/separated parents, a copy of court order giving custody of the child should be submitted.
(ii) 4 coloured photographs (recent and 2" x 2" size) in white background;
(iii) Photocopy of first and last page of passport of child’s parents;
(iv) Photocopy of passport page having endorsement of work/resident permit of parent(s);
(v) A letter from Fiji Immigration Department mentioning that the applicant has neither taken Fiji citizenship nor applicant has not applied for Fiji citizenship.
(vi) Applicant is required to submit his original passport along with the application.
FEE: FJD 118/- to be paid at counter only.
PROCESSING TIME: 30 working days/subject to clearance received from India/Mission/Posts abroad.
Note: Name of Child’s parents in birth certificate, issued by the Fiji government, should be in accordance to that mentioned either in their marriage certificate or in their Indian Passports.
Both the parents (Mother and Father) of the child has to sign the application in front of Consular officer.
NEW PASSPORT TO A CHILD BORN IN FOREIGN COUNTRIES:
Government of India has made it mandatory to register online the birth of a child of Indian parents living in Foreign Country. The registration is to be done within one year of birth of child. The new born child will be issued passport only if the child’s birth is registered online. The documents required to be submitted to the mission for registration after filling online application are:-
(i) Dully signed computer generated form. It is advised to upload photograph and signature/thumb impression etc. while feeding data online;
(ii) Three passport size colour photograph of child;
(iii) Birth certificate of child;
(iv) Marriage certificate of parents;
(v) Photocopy of passports of Parents;
(vi) A letter (in original) from Fiji Immigration mentioning that child does not hold Fiji citizenship;
(vii) Certificate of registration of birth issued by HCI, Suva.
Note : Name of Child’s parents in birth certificate, issued by the Fiji government, should be in accordance to that mentioned either in their marriage certificate or in their Indian Passports.

PROCESSING TIME: 15 days.
- Once the child is registered and registration certificate is issued by the Mission, parents can apply for fresh passport for their Child. For this application has to be filled online at : https://embassy.passportindia.gov.in. After filling online application, a signed computer generated application form is to be submitted at the Mission along with the following documents:
(i) 4 passport (2"x2"size) coloured photograph of the child in white background;
(ii) Photocopy of first and last page of passport of child’s parents;
(iii) Photocopy of passport’s page having endorsement of work/Exemption permit of parents;
(iv) Copy of birth certificate issued from concerned department of Fiji Government;
(v) Marriage certificate of child’s parents;
(vi) A letter from Fiji Immigration Department mentioning that the applicant has not taken Fiji citizenship nor applied for Fiji citizenship.
FEES: FJ$ 118/-

This High Commission renders the following passport services to the Indian nationals residing in Republic of Fiji, Tonga, Tuvalu and Kiribati. Only select services like issue of Emergency Certificate etc are available for those Indians not resident in Fiji. Fees for various passport services may please be checked from fees circular.
Reissue of Indian Passports are issued to the bonafide Indian residents of Republic of Fiji, Tonga, Tuvalu and Kiribati at anytime within six months of the date of expiry of the current passports. Requests for renewal of passports before six months of expiry date are considered on a case by case basis. Fresh passports are valid for a maximum period of 10 years. (Please Note: Issue of 20 years validity passports has been discontinued). However, in case of maids, a two-year validity passport is issued initially, which is renewable every two years upto ten years. Maids have to pay the fees only once, i.e. at the time of obtaining fresh passports. Subsequent renewal is free of charge. Three passport size photographs and the Identity Card issued by Fiji authorities are required. Passports for infants are issued only for a duration of five years as facial features of infants change fast. Such passports can also be renewed on expiry of five years. Fresh/ renewal of passports takes a period of four to six weeks. All passports issued are machine readable and printed from India.
Emergency Certificate is issued in case of lost passports. The application should accompany Police Report. Upon loss of passport, please intimate the nearest police station at once and also contact the Fiji Immigration Office at Vailalevu to obtain a Special Pass to regularize your stay in Fiji without holding a passport. Three photographs are required. Emergency certificates are issued only after establishing the identity of Indian nationals.
Additional Booklets No additional booklets are issued. Instead an individual has to apply for a new passport.
