The High Commission of India provides the following Miscellaneous Consular Services:

Sworn affidavit for the issue of passport to a minor child residing in India
i. Attestation of Documents: High Commission of India performs following types of notarial functions:
(a) Attestation of true copies of original documents: Attestation of true copies of Academic certificates, marriage certificate and birth certificates issued in India, and other such documents requested by Indian citizens residing in the Consular jurisdiction of this Mission.
(b) Attestation of original documents issued by authorities in India: Attestation of Birth, Death and Educational Certificates etc. issued by the Indian authorities provided the same has been attested the General Administration Department of the concerned State and Apostille by CPV Division, Ministry of External Affairs, New Delhi or nearest Brach Secretariats of Ministry of External Affairs.
(c) Attestation of documents issued by authorities in Consular Jurisdiction of this Mission: Attestation of documents like educational certificates, birth, marriage or death certificates issued by concerned authorities. The Mission will do the attestation only after these documents are first Authenticated/Apostilled by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs or relevant authority in the concerned country.
(d) Power of Attorney/Affidavits: Any affidavit, declaration or Power of Attorney to be used in India may be attested in the Mission. These documents are required to be signed in the presence of Consular officer in the Mission, who will verify and satisfy about the identity of the executants/deponent on the basis of his/her passport.
For all kinds of above mentioned services, following documents are required:

ii. NRI (Non Resident Indian) Certificate: The NRI Certificate is issued to Indian Passport holders on the basis of documents supporting the facts viz. valid Permanent Resident, Resident Visa/work visa.
Documents required:

Valid Indian passport with photocopy copies of the passport pages showing their exit and entry stamp of Indian Immigration authority showing that applicant has been out of India for more than 180 days in the year

Proof of residency status like Visa, Work Permit, Exemption Permit or PR.

iii. Registration of Birth of children eligible for Indian citizenship: Government of India has made it mandatory to register online the birth of a child of Indian parents living in Foreign Country. The registration is to be done within one year of birth of child. The new born child will be issued passport only if the child’s birth is registered online. Online registration can be done on this link:

The documents required to be submitted to the mission for registration after filling online application are:-
1. Dully signed computer generated form. It is advised to upload photograph and signature/thumb impression etc. while feeding data online;
2. Three passport size colour photograph of child;
3. Birth certificate of child
4. Marriage certificate of parents.
5. photocopy of passports of Parents
6. A letter (in original) from Fiji Immigration mentioning that child does not hold Fiji citizenship.
7. Certificate of registration of birth issued by HCI, Suva.
Note: Name of Child’s parents in birth certificate, issued by the Fiji government, should be in accordance to that mentioned either in their marriage certificate or in their Indian Passports.
iv. Life Certificate: To obtain a Life Certificate for pension purposes, the personal appearance of the applicant with the following documents at the Mission is necessary:

Life certificate proforma, given by the Indian bank/authorities may please be filled beforehand. It has to be signed in the presence of Consular Officer of the Mission.
